Sue is a professional genealogist and family historian based in Phoenix, Arizona, with over 16 years of experience in research. Born in South Africa to her British father and South African mother, Sue’s roots are predominantly English with a little Scottish, Irish and of course South African, to add to the mix. Sue is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, the National Genealogical Society, eGGSA (Genealogy Society of South Africa), the Arizona Council of Professional Genealogists, and the International Society of British Genealogy and Family History where Sue currently serves as the Membership Chair.
Sue specializes in British Isles research, including the Isle of Man, South African research and the U.S. Midwest and Southwest regions.
Sue holds a Certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University and is a graduate of ProGen 37.
She believes strongly in giving back to the genealogical community that she has gained so much from. Her role as a volunteer for various organizations has allowed her to give back as well as gain experience from the interactions with other genealogists. She has indexed for FamilySearch for many years and for various other projects over the past 12 years, and serves as a Family History Consultant. Sue volunteers as a Genealogy Merit Badge counselor for the Boy Scouts of America and is also the Chapter head for the South African and Arizona Chapters of the Virtual Genealogical Association.
